Boot Size Guide
Boot sizing depends on length, width, socks, upper stiffness and how the heel sits inside the boot.
What to check first
Your toes should not hit the front, your heel should not lift excessively, and the boot should not pinch across the widest part of your foot.
Socks and break-in
Thicker socks can justify a little more room, but stiff leather should not be confused with a shoe being too small in length.
- Check length while standing.
- Try the socks you plan to wear.
- Consider insoles if a whole-size boot is slightly roomy.
Common questions
Should boots be half a size bigger?
Sometimes, especially for thick socks, but only if the heel remains secure.
Do leather boots stretch?
Leather can soften and give slightly, but it will not reliably add length.
