Heels Size Guide
Heels are less forgiving than trainers because the foot slides forward and toe shape can create pressure even when the length looks right.
Fit checks for heels
The heel should hold your foot without slipping, while the toe area should not crush the front of your foot.
- Pointed toes often feel tighter.
- Open-back styles need a secure forefoot fit.
- If the heel slips, sizing up is usually the wrong move.
Between sizes
For heels, the smaller size can sometimes feel more secure, but it should not cause toe pain or numbness.
Common questions
Should heels be tight at first?
They should feel secure, not painful. Pressure, numbness or crushed toes are signs the fit is wrong.
Do pointed heels run small?
They can feel smaller because the toe box narrows, even if the measured length is similar.
